Description

This position is responsible for leadership of assigned teams within IU Health Revenue Cycle Services. Ensures high quality standardized work processes that result in consistent outcomes that compare favorably with relevant national benchmarks. Serves as the first tier escalation for team members on task oriented problems or issues, and supports management in promotion of staff development and the allocation and coordination of daily work.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • 2 years of experience with Indiana University Health Revenue Cycle Services strongly preferred.
    Requires expert knowledge of revenue cycle requirements and regulations.
  • Requires a high level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytic skills.
  • Requires effective written and verbal communication skills in both individual and group settings.
  • Requires the ability to promote teamwork and develop team members.
  • Requires the ability to take initiative and meet objectives.

Team Leadership - Works with assigned team(s) daily to identify and escalate issues, address questions, and coordinate daily team activities. Serves as the first tier escalation for team members on task oriented problems or issues. May perform team specific training for new hires and ad-hoc training for existing team members.

Revenue Cycle Management - Responsible for the team's timely and accurate completion of assigned duties in support of revenue cycle outcomes. Ensures that all reasonable efforts are exercised to optimize revenue cycle outcomes and that job duties are performed within documented standards. Provides regular feedback to management on barriers that impact revenue cycle performance.

Productivity and Effectiveness - Ensures team meets or exceeds established departmental productivity and quality standards. Ensures that tasks are completed in a timely manner and in accordance within time frames established by contractual agreements and state and federal law. Ensures that actions taken are adequately documented in appropriate system(s) to support subsequent steps or processes in the revenue cycle.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement - Maintains a high level of expertise on federal and state regulations as well as specific commercial payer requirements in order to promote optimal revenue cycle performance. Ensures that all activities on assigned work comply with government regulatory standards and third party contractual agreements. Ensures that the team's work is performed within established quality standards. Identifies problems and opportunities and recommends potential solutions or process improvements. Serves as a resource in the development of reference and training documentation.
