Job Duties

Manages all aspects of food service operations and provides direct supervision to supervisees in food serving and clean-up. Supervises the activities of Food Service staff to include supervisees in the preparation and serving of meals to the population ensuring compliance with all policies. Manages the unit’s food service operation to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and security regulations. Responsible for sanitation, procurement, documentation, food storage and cost controls.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of large volume food operations, sanitation, and food safety standards. Skilled in the operation of food service equipment. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and/or offenders in a food service environment. Working knowledge of DOC Policies and Procedures for Food Services. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

Additional Considerations

Work experience in a large volume food service environment including a correctional, educational, hospital or similar institutional setting. ServSafe Certification or the ability to obtain within 12-months.
