Job Description

Dealer Parts Operations Manager

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

In this position...

The Dealer Parts Operations Manager will be a SE Michigan based employee working out of Building 2 (minimum of four days a week) responsible for developing and maintaining Retail Inventory Management (RIM) and Dealer to Dealer (D2D) programs. The Dealer Parts Operations Manager is the Strategic Owner of Ford’s Interconnected Inventory and Logistics ecosystem. This role is responsible for ensuring that the right parts are on the shelf and moveable across the dealer network with sub-day velocity. This role will own the lifecycle of inventory management (RIM) and the technological platforms that facilitate dealer-to-dealer (D2D) fulfillment. There is an expectation to proactively identify friction points in the network and bring data-backed innovations to leadership that drive incremental volume and sub-day velocity.

What you'll do...

Strategic Innovation and Network Ownership

  • Proactive Problem Solving: Actively "hunt" for inefficiencies in the wholesale network. Do not wait for assignments; bring weekly strategic recommendations to leadership on how to improve fill rates and reduce transit times.
  • Intimate Data Analysis: Own the data. Move beyond supplier-provided reports to perform deep-dive analysis into the UDB and DMS feeds. You must have a "boots on the ground" understanding of why parts aren't moving and provide the "so-what" behind the metrics.
  • Pilot & Scale: Design and lead pilot programs for new inventory strategies or D2D logistics models. Own the results from concept to national rollout.

RIM and Inventory Strategy Management

  • Program Architecture: Evolve RIM from a stocking tool to a competitive weapon. Refine discount frameworks and terms to reward dealers who maintain high velocity, "Interconnected" inventory.
  • Performance Accountability: Deliver high-stakes reporting on enterprise-level KPIs. Partner with ADMI to ensure dealer health but maintain internal "intimacy" with the data to verify supplier performance and dealer compliance.
  • Training & Communication: Lead program training and stakeholder communications Develop and maintain training materials in partnership with Alteris

RIM Virtual Dealer to Dealer Hub

  • Network Expansion: Proactively identify and recruit high-performing Mechanical and Collision Hubs to fill "White Space" in the national footprint.
  • Operating Model Optimization: Own the logic of the Hub-and-Spoke network. Continuously refine routing and fulfillment strategies to ensure the network is out-executing aftermarket competitors.
  • Field Empowerment: Act as the SME for POMs and Zone Managers, providing them with the surgical data needed to win local market share using the Hub network.

Dealer to Dealer Program Management

  • Velocity Ownership: Own the performance of D2D Express. Your goal is sub-day transit. Identify "Logistics Black Holes" and deploy immediate solutions (e.g., Flex-Drop/Uber Direct integration) to resolve them.
  • Platform Leadership: Serve as the primary business owner for D2DLink. Do not rely on OEC for direction; instead, dictate the UI/UX requirements and data integrity standards needed to make the platform frictionless for the parts counter.
  • Back-Order Friction Reduction: Use D2D as a primary lever to mitigate national back-orders, moving parts across the network with urgency.
  • Training & Enablement: Develop and maintain training materials in collaboration with OEC to enable dealer adoption and effective utilization of both platforms

Dealer Inventory Health, Analytics and Tools Management

  • Dealer Health Programs (via ADMI Partnership)
    • Co-develop and execute Dealer Health initiatives to improve network performance
    • Track program effectiveness and drive continuous optimization
    • Lead dealer enrollment, awareness, and adoption strategies
    • Deliver training and communication to field teams to ensure consistent execution
  • Dashboard Visionary: Own the Dealer Parts Operations Center (DPOC) dashboard. Ensure it isn't just a "view" of data, but a tool that drives action.
  • Data Integrity: Partner with GDIA to ensure 100% accuracy in DMS data feeds. You are the final gatekeeper for the data that the field and dealers rely on

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience advanced in Excel and data visualization. You must be able to identify what data is needed, where it is located and be able to manipulate raw data to find trends that aren't visible in standard reports.
  • 5+ years of experience having a proven track record of taking a vague objective and turning it into a structured, successful program without constant supervision
  • 2+ years of experience being able to stand in front of Executive Leadership or Dealer Committees and defend a data-backed strategy with confidence.

Even better, you may have...

  • Knowledge of Dealer Inventory Management (Turn rates, fill rates, obsolescence, and bin-mapping).
  • Direct experience with CDK, Reynolds, and OEC platforms and how they interface with Ford systems.
  • A natural bias for action. You understand that in the wholesale business, a "wait and see" approach is a "loss to the aftermarket" approach.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between FCSD Supply & Logistics, Finance, and the Field Sales organization.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
  • Tuition assistance
  • Established and active employee resource groups
  • Paid time off for individual and team community service
  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day
  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.
